Success at Provincial Meeting 2016

On Saturday 24 September 2016, the Mark Province of Kent held a truly successful Provincial Meeting at Oakley House, Bromley.

VW Bro Jerry Gangadeen, APGM London, who is a Master Baker by trade, presented four wonderful cakes to the Province, one of which was made the subject of a "heads and tails" contest.

RW Bro David Ashbolt (PGM for London) supervised the contest and ensured fair play! It is sometimes said that fortune smiles on the righteous. All I can say is that, against the massive odds of a packed room, the cake was won by WBro Peter Reader of Erdemont Mark Lodge.

Not only was good fun had by all but this very generous donation by VW Bro Jerry raised in excess of £500 for the Kent Mark 2020 Festival. A true example of Provinces working together to aid the charitable activities of the Mark Benevolent Fund.

WBro Peter Reader can be seen below left smiling at his success with RW Bro Archie Torrance, centre, having presented the prize. RW Bro David Asbolt can be seen to the right, still supervising activities. The smiles say it all!
