Charity - 2020 Festival

As all Masons and many people, who are not Masons, will be aware, charity is the foundation principle of the entire, extended Masonic family.

The Province of Kent is currently privileged to be "in Festival" by way of the 2020 Festival in favour of the Mark Benevolent Fund. The Mark Benevolent fund helps Mark Masons and their families but also makes significant grants to non Masonic charities.

Until 2020, the Erdemont Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Lodges will be directing their charitable activities in support of the 2020 Festival.

At the Provincial Mark Meeting on Saturday 27 September 2014, it was certified that the Erdemont Lodge of Mark Master Masons 1894 had qualified as a Grand Patron Gold Award Lodge in the Mark Benevolent Fund and the Worshipful Master is now authorised to wear the distinctive Jewel at all meetings. The Worshipful Master for the year, WBro Tom Quinn, accepted the award on behalf of the Lodge with much pride!

At the Provincial Meeting on Saturday 26 September 2015, The Royal Ark Mariner Lodge was presented with the Mark Benevolent Fund Vice-Patronage award, while the Mark Lodge received the Kent 2020 Festival Bronze Award Certificate. These awards can be seen below. The Lodges have no intention of stopping at these levels and the drive to support the 2020 Festival and the Mark Benevolent Fund continues!

The Mark Lodge has, as of February 2017, attained the Festival Silver Award but intends to carry on to attain the Festival Platinum Award before the Festival ends in 2020.
